Wish you were here helmet released (Valentino Rossi - Simoncelli tribute helmet)

AGV anounced that the highly anticipated "AGV Corsa Wish you were here helmet" will be released this October. This special helmet was worn by Valentino Rossi at the Misano 2013 Grand prix to pay a tribute to his passed-away friend Marco Simoncelli who dies in the 2011 Sepang Grand Prix.

ALDO DRUDI (DESIGNER) DESCRIBES THE HELMET: “THIS YEAR'S IDEA IS VERY SIMPLE: THE ALBUM COVER DOMINATES THE CROWN OF THE HELMET. TWO ROBOTIC HANDS UNITE THE FOUR ELEMENTS IN THE BACKGROUND" (EARTH, FIRE, WATER, AND AIR). THE REFERENCE TO HIS FRIEND AND COLLEAGUE MARCO SIMONCELLI IS CLEAR: “HOW I WISH, HOW I WISH YOU WERE HERE”. ON THE NECK ROLL AT THE BACK OF THE HELMET, THE PINK FLOYD ALBUM CULT COVER SHOWS TWO MEN
SHAKING HANDS IN FRONT OF A FACTORY WITH ONE OF THE MEN IN FLAMES.
VALENTINO ROSSI'S DEDICATION IS VERY CLOSELY LINKED TO THE MUSICAL MEANING OF THE IMAGES ON THE HELMET. WISH YOU WERE HERE IS AN ALBUM ABOUT THE ABSENCE OF MAN, SAD AND LOST IN WHAT GILMOUR AND WATERS DEFINE AS THE "SOCIETY OF MACHINES”. THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT THE ABSENCE OF MARCO SIMONCELLI HAS BEEN FELT EVEN MORE STRONGLY AT HIS "HOME TRACK" WHICH WAS IN FACT NAMED AFTER HIM A FEW MONTHS AFTER HIS TRAGIC DEATH.
